New NCAA Football 11 Screens, Comparisons

NCAA Football 2011 is only a few months away from its July 13th release date, and today the good guys over at EA Tiburon help us understand why the game looks so much better than its predecessor. The culprit? Would you believe it, it’s those darn lights.

While much of the meat of the new blog post by EA has mysteriously gone missing from the page, our good friends over on Pastapadre managed to snag a few details and an extra screen before it was taken down, either on purpose or by mistake.

PastPadre reports: “EA: Without getting too much into the art/technical details, we wanted to talk about a couple of graphic improvements; the first being linear lighting. This lighting technique allows us to more accurately control the material properties of everything that makes up the player. To put it in basic terms, we now have control over how bright or dark things get without losing detail. It also helps us get the authentic color on the uniforms.”


We’ll update this story with more details if and when the blog post returns in its entirety.

UPDATE: It took a few hours, but EA has corrected the issue with their blog and you should now be able to read the latest post in full.
