New Madden 11 Videos, Locomotion Blog

When NCAA Football 11 released their new blog post on locomotion, it was only a matter of time until Madden 11 showed its own hand. Today, lead gameplay designer Ryan Burnsides posted up a seriously deep blog post on how Madden 11 will make use of the improved locomotion technology.

EA Blog: “At the start of the Madden NFL 11 cycle our goals were to integrate acceleration, momentum, and direction changes into the game in a way that felt responsive; was easy to tune; and looked more like what you see in an actual NFL game. With those targets in mind, we have completely ripped out our old locomotion engine and replaced it with a brand new system. We collaborated closely with the FIFA team and are combining the best parts of their locomotion system (called RailTracks) with a brand new tech we created specifically for Madden NFL 11.”

In the blog posting, which breaks down how each area of locomotion is improved in Madden 11, fans are greeted to three brand-new development videos including an ever-popular look at some brief acceleration motion-capturing and the impact of agility. Heck, it even looks like someone over at EA is a big fan of our Micro-Guide: Speedy Gonzalez. Who else makes videos of Madden players racing eachother to test out speed? We do, that’s who. Call your lawyers EA, or give us some swag. We like the swaggedy.

    Looks truly favorable. EA shows this benign of matter every year. It’s highly produced video, healthy effects, with apartment lightning, wipes, and all.
