Possible Madden 11 Roster Update This Weekend

The NFL preseason is almost over, meaning team rosters will soon be trimmed down and finalized. That’s typically also a signal that the first of many Madden 11 roster updates is on the way, as EA has thankfully just confirmed.

Earlier today on Twitter an inquisitive fan asked Madden NFL developer Ian Cummings when the next Madden 11 roster update would arrive. Hours later, after Cummings redirected the question, fellow developer Donny Moore revealed that the roster update could be here as soon as this weekend. Here’s how the conversation broke down after the initial question.

EA Ian Cummings: “The czar will know for sure when. (@Donny_Moore).”

EA Donny Moore: “We are targeting this weekend for another roster update for #madden11″

Whether or not the Madden 11 roster update actually will go live this weekend is yet to be determined, but as of writing that appears to be the plan. What are some of the possible changes you hope to see in the update? Let us know in the comment section.

    brian iwuh is a freeagent when he should be a bear. Devin Aromashodu seems a bit underrated (70 overall though he’s arguably the best receiver the team has) Danieal Manning is a CB when he should be a safety. Id complain about hester’s speed and agility but i doubt that would help anything. Seriously, Hester has 95 agility??? he’s the greatest return man of all time. ii miss his 100 speed :(

    Hope Broncos Orton goes up, as well as tim tebow. Orton looks sharp and so did Tebow his first game. Quinn is a bum so far.

    I believe Danny Amendola needs to be alot faster. Steven Jackson fumbles a little too much. Why not gie us Rams fans a fair shot?

    orton needs to go up and sanchez needs to go down ,how is sanchez above orton when orton had a way better season then sanchez last season and now in the pre season, ea needs to stop overrating players just cuz the team makes the playoff ,jets made the playoff cuz of defence not sanchez he is overrated

    i watch the rams and Danny Amendola burned some team on a return so bad (he had about 30 yards on them) so why is he so terrible. and yes Steven Jackson fumbles the ball WAY to much i fumble the ball 2-3 times a game and i hold down the R1 to. also the rams MLB james (cant spell his last name) gets tossed around like cheap change and OJ cant catch the ball to save his soul even though his catching rating is 83.

    why are there two players(Robert You QB and Daniel Frisch RB) on the free agents that dont even exist when victor cruz for the giants clearly does exist isnt in the game?

    so why do they remove players from the game when they’re injured. I only use online to update rosters and then use those in franchise mode (not online) but some players are no longer in the game. I try not to complain about video games cause well… it’s just a game but that is kind of weird, why wouldn’t they be in FA? Pierre Woods disappeared and so did NYG returner Hixon. Only ones I noticed… players should only be removed from the game if they are retired.

    I agree with fakeemail. The bears roster, as well as many others are still jacked-up… hester should still have 100 speed, and atleast 97 agility. Just because he is at wideout doesn’t mean he’s slower.. he’s not even 30 years old; which is when EA tipically starts to reduce players speed.

    Well I really believe EA Sports doesn’t bother improving the Madden franchise as much as it should from year 2 year simply because it has no competition n the market (where is the NFL 2K series) 4 starters. I very much agree with Lamjr2009′s comment because they do overrate players just because of how far they went n the season. I am a die-hard Dolphins fan and I’m tired of seeing my team get disrespected from year 2 year. Chad Henne also had a better year than Sanchez but got a lower rating. Ricky Williams runs faster than Ronnie Brown n reality, & w’sup with Ronnie having 76 for trucking? SEVENTY-SIX!!?? & that’s just 2 name a few of the game’s issues. I wonder if EA even has staff members that actually watch football.

    Here’s one idea, go to each team’s official website and go player for player on the roster. Also, practice squad players should be at least on the free agent list as well as PUP players who are not even on the game. Specialits (i.e. longsnappers) should be in the game. Finally, your team souldn’t have to field 10 o-linemen, or 1 fullback, etc. There are teams that don’t have a fullback (Patriots, Bengals). There are teams that only have 9 o-linemen. Just look at the teams official roster and go from there.

    It would be nice for the replays to work properly at the end of the game because you can’t look at any play! Maybe 5 or 6 but that’s it and I for one like to look at myself after a performance to see what I did good and bad.

    Went I play season why is the free safety get no stats and its in all teams.I play as the lions and when im in like week six delmas and every other starting free safety have like 7 or less tackles.

    The next madden update should have Housh on the ravens, Marion barber with more speed, and somehow have a halftime show. The 2k series had the most realistic & entertaining halftime show & analysis in a football game, and ea should learn from them. Lastly, ea should bring back the training in the franchise mode (like madden 09).

    1) I’d like 2 b able 2 view more than 5 seconds of the replays I get. I don’t save any because usually my best plays last 4 longer than 5 seconds. 2) I 2 would also like 2 c a halftime show & a better pre & postgame show. I liked 2 watch the actual game highlights from the other games (like the 2k series did). 3) I’d like 2 c WRs fight 4 the deep ball as much as the DBs do, even if u have 2 add another rating 4 it. Larry Fitzgerald has caught so many deep passes simply by fighting 4 position and out-jumping the defense 2 get the ball, something that doesn’t come close 2 happening n any Madden game. 4) Pass interference is never called against the CPU, nor is offsides. 5) Rewinds may as well b removed since when u use 1 the CPU always changes the play. 6) Where’s my jump-the-snap button? The CPU seems 2 have 1. 7)I’m sick & tired of seeing OLs have complete brain farts on what position they’re playing. 2 many times have I been sacked or tackled n the backfield because a lineman or 5 went 2 sleep or felt the need 2 block me instead of blocking 4 me. Just getting beat by the defense occasionally is fine, but my OLs should never just step aside & invite the defense n2 my backfield. 8) Players with great ball carrying ability still fumble entirely 2 much even when the player is holding the protect ball button. 9) Superstar mode is boring as hell if u should want 2 play as a CB because no matter how u try 2 bait the QB n2 throwing your way he always throws 2 the other side of the field. Sometimes I’ve left my WR completely uncovered & the QB still didn’t throw it 2 him. 10) I’d like 2 c the return of playbook & play creation. 11) Where’s the horse collar penalty? It’s an actual rule now just like the FIVE YARD face mask. & 12) Who gives a crap about new features when u can’t do the old ones correctly?

    Oh, yeah…I almost 4got…If size and momentum r supposed 2 count 4 so much with this locomotion technology, then y am I seeing so many 6′ 230-240 lbs guys running 10 or more yards 4ward being knocked on their asses by guys that were standing still or being blocked?

    I have a quick question. I’ve not seen OLB Marcus Benard on the Cleveland Brown’s roster yet. This is the 2nd year he’s been on the active roster, yet not in the game. Has anyone seen an update with him in it? If so, where can I get it?
