A new Madden 12 video teaser has just been released, and true to its name it’s shrouded in mystery. One thing is for sure: Madden 12 will finally feature custom playbooks, beloved mascots and more new features.

Madden 12 Video Teaser Reveals New Features

Earlier this morning a 35 second Madden NFL 12 video trailer was released by EA, and while there is still more to take from it, right away the most obvious additions revealed are custom playbooks, more realistic player entrances, legendary player cards probably for (Madden Ultimate Team) and even the inclusion of long-absent NFL mascots. Also included was a further look at the previously revealed surprise onside kick.

Less obviously may be a hint at grass technology similar to that revealed in NCAA Football 12, player-specific tendencies to better diversify stars and what we’re guessing might be some kind of spectator mode, if not just an easier way to see games in progress by your friends. What can you see?

Madden 12 Blog Will Reveal More Soon

With an active Madden 12 cover voting tournament taking place as we speak, as well as a blog schedule of feature unveilings being released, fans will have plenty of time to soak in what’s coming in this year’s Madden NFL over the next few months.

Most notably, fans are waiting to see what will happen with this year’s franchise and superstar modes. Last season, Madden 11 left the modes almost completely untouched, in favor of uprooting the system entirely. Just how more in depth the new franchise and superstar modes are, we don’t quite know yet, but we’re crossing our fingers and hoping the experience is focused on scouting and the draft, rather than setting the price of hotdogs.
