A Peek at NCAA Football 11

Since the beginning of the month EA has been releasing information on the latest NCAA Football. With the game not expected to hit stores until July 13th, we’ve been given bits and pieces of information and left to imagine the rest. Here’s a preview of the game broken down by gameplay and presentation improvements.

Gameplay Improvements

EA has attempted to re-vamped the gameplay style in NCAA 11 by shifting more focus towards the improved locomotion technology. In the new NCAA 11, users will have three levels they can set the game speed at, or keep it on the default option which seems to be the most popular. There are new dual-analog stick controls that bring a new element to NCAA 11, the right stick is now used to control your player’s upper torso just like big brother Madden 11. This new addition allows users to have the ability to have their player lean back, arch his back, and high step a bit to shake off a attempting tackler. With these new controls and features for the analog sticks, and after a number of complaints rising from NCAA 10, EA was left with no choice but to work on the Artificial Intelligence in the game. These new AI improvements include new blocking assignments that prevent linemen from standing still when there is no one to block, and new enhancements on offense for the CPU.

Presentation Improvements

EA has worked on the graphics and animations to improve the presentation of the game. One of the bigger announcements revealed about the game is that it will be receiving a ESPN makeover. One thing users anticipate about the arrival of the new NCAA, is the updated team jerseys. In this years game, EA has shifted some of its focus towards doing just that. NCAA 11 brings you throwbacks, new combinations, and more alternate jerseys. One thing users will notice is that there are no bowl patches in NCAA 11. With the improved graphics, you will now be able to differentiate a mesh style jersey from a newer style jersey due to the new lighting systems implemented in this years game. Along with the new lighting system comes never before seen animations that brings real life actions into the game.
