A Look at What’s to Come in Madden 11
After EA gave us A Peek at NCAA 11, it’s only right for them now to give us a preview at what’s to come in big brother Madden 11. EA has been busy making a lot of changes to the highly anticipated Madden 11, and if you haven’t been keeping up with the all the announcements we’ve got the break down for you here.
Gameplay
EA has taken a new approach to the way users will play Madden by completely redesigning the play-calling system and attempting to make it simpler, quicker, and deeper. Designers wanted to incorporate offensive and defensive coordinators actually telling you what plays to run over the headset. With EA’s latest announcement on GameFlow and Game Planning, game time can be cut down from the current average taking just over an hour, down to thirty minutes if the feature is used. Enabling the feature is only one button away so users can switch back and forth to their preferred play calling style.
Presentation
Every year EA tries to find a way to step up the authenticity of Madden by trying to give you a real football experience. This year, Madden has gone from taking a step to making a leap. From more fluid animations to showing scenes of NFL superstars like Drew Brees and Payton Mannng. Peep the trailer and see if you can’t notice the changes yourself.
Controls
There’s no turbo in this years game, instead acceleration is based off the players speed rating and controlled with the left analog stick along with turning. All offensive moves are now used with the right analog stick. The relocation of the spin move from a button to the right analog stick along side juke, and truck will allow users to create combination moves with the tip of their finger.
Madden Executive Producer Jeremy Strauser: “It feels like no ‘Madden’ that I’ve played before. You can chain together moves like a stutter to a spin to a juke, then lower your shoulder as you try to get that extra yard. Now you don’t need to hit four different buttons with a turbo modifier to perform these moves. It’s a lot easier to use, and at the same time, it looks a lot more like you see when you’re watching the NFL for real.”
