The best defenders in Madden 25 were revealed in a new video put out today by EA, which focuses on the Top 5 players at each key position group on defense.

Not surprisingly, Houston Texans DE J.J. Watt is the highest rated defensive player in Madden 25 with the prestigious 99 overall, while Darrelle Revis still holds on to the top spot in the secondary over Richard Sherman, with a 97 rating of his own.

Based on what we know, that means there are only three 99 overall players in Madden this season, as Adrian Peterson, Calvin Johnson and J.J. Watt are the only ones to secure the elusive near-perfect rating. To help catch you up to speed on Watt and the rest of his year’s top defensive players, EA even put out a video highlighting the best of each defensive group.
